residency

programs

By extending invitations to young artists from other countries and providing a space where they can engage in artistic activities, the program enables artists to form communities, merge and pleasantly enjoy a creative and productive process.

We encourage artists who have various cultural backgrounds to come into contact with another environment, as well as immerse themselves in the local art scene. Artesan believes such artist-in-residence programs have the potential to become hotspots of international

cross-cultural exchange.

BUT  WHY ?

By bringing in each artist to a different environment with a different inspirational content from his own, he may absorb such influences and eventually apply such themes into his medium, without compromise to his individual style.

Our Artist-in-Residence and Exchange Program primarily aims to achieve the following:

  • Bring each artist to a different environment with a different inspirational content from his own, absorb local influences and eventually apply such themes into his medium, without compromise to their style

  • Allow artists to undertake their creative activities within the context of a different country and culture. By allowing those artists who have various cultural backgrounds to come into contact with another environment, as well as local art scene, artist-in-residence programs have the potential to become hotspots of international cross-cultural exchange.

  • A pioneer exchange program is confirmed and scheduled to take place any time during the year. Its success highly depends on the success of grant applications.
