Ronald Ventura

A collaborative exhibit by Artesan & the NUS Museum, ended on 10th Feb 2009
Vetoed by many as one of Ventura's best collection yet, the show ran from the beginning of Sept 2008 until December, and then extended for a further two months, enjoying high critical acclaim.

Turn The Tables:
Ronaldo Ruiz

Lyra Garcellano

Performance artist Ronaldo Ruiz returns to his original medium of choice, painting. Using a Japanese performance artist who uses a table to perform his art as the subject for his new series of paintings, Ruiz captures the nuances of two diverse yet co-related branches of art - performance arts and visual arts- on his canvas, succinctly capturing the unique position he is traversing in the world of art.

Honing his skills in Fine Arts at the University of the East in the Philippine, Ronaldo Ruiz has emerged as one of the Philippines’ multi-awarded artists. He was one of the Thirteen Artist Awardees recognized by Cultural Center of the Philippines for his contribution to Philippine Contemporary Art in 2003. He was also a two-time recipient of the Philip Morris Philippines Art Awards in 2000 and 1997.

The works of Ruiz often incorporate painting, installation and performance shows of .....
